Crispy, crackling leaves falling.
Raking, jumping, laughing, running.
Woodstoves, crock pots, steaming hot ovens.
Squash, roasts, homemade bread.
Cider, hot cocoa, and toddies abound.
Apples, doughnuts, pumpkin pie.
Vibrant colors, pitch black nights.
Sweaters, socks, footie jammies.
Love and comfort settling in.

Oh, I love fall. I am SO excited.
Me toooooo!
Beautiful! I love the warm colors of fall and now you have me dreaming of a warm baked squash,
Oh, that sounds so good! My gram used to make the best acorn squash. Halve it, scoop out seeds, poke some holes in the flesh with a fork. Put in salt, pepper, brown sugar, a couple of strips of bacon, and a pat of butter. Pretty much negates all that is healthy about it, but so delicious and comforting!
I love those leaves! I found ya on day 2 of the fall SITS challenge, I hope your having a great day!
I, too, am glad fall is here! So many great sounds, smells, and colors! Hopping over from SITS! Hope you will hop back!
It’s overwhelming with it’s wonderfulness!
I love fall and your picture captures it all so well! Stopping by from SITS today!
Why thank you! And thanks for stopping by!
woodstoves! yes – no better smell
I know, right?! We don’t have one, but our neighbors do. I’m impatiently waiting for them to fire it up.
I’m looking forward to fall! The light is changing, it is taking on that autumn quality, but we aren’t there yet. Only some of the trees are starting the slow change. Some day I’ll make it to the East coast to see the fall colors…we just don’t have that here in Silicon Valley.
Well you know you always have a place to stay!
I love your picture and all your fall things. Fall is the best. We don’t get it down here in Florida, but I’m happy to get a little peek at yours.
Have you ever experienced a Northern fall?
I love fall, and I love your post! I can’t wait for cider and pumpkins and leaves falling (except for raking), and apples, and that smell in the air. YUM!
I know, when I was lamenting about fall to my husband, he reminded me of the huge mess of leaves we always have. We have several large maple trees that all bloom and shed at different times. So we are raking all fall!
And that smell – I tried to describe it, but I came up short.
Found you over at SITS. Love your sites.
I am actually looking forward to fall this year. I’m a huge fan of the heat but this summer was crazy. I could go for a good cup of hot cocoa myself.
Thanks Jen! I love your site too! I could go for some cocoa myself. I like it in my coffee!
Stunning, absolutely stunning. I love your whole list!
Thank you Karin! I could have gone on, but it seemed right the way it was!
Your list makes me want to wrap myself up in a cozy sweater and get some hot chocolate! Beautiful picture.
It’s actually still pretty warm here. I can’t wait to bust out my sweaters and scarves!
Your list sums it up! I love fall but the only downside is the winter that follows!! Stopping by from SITS challenge
Oh, I know. We had such a mild winter last year, but I hear we are in for a bitter, snowy one this year. I like it through Christmas, and then I’m done. Although I do enjoy a periodic snow in!
Such a lovely post. Makes look forward to fall even more.
